Mission Bed & Nightstand
w/ bedrail hardware

This queen-sized bed is an outstanding project that fits very well in most homes today. The Art's & Crafts style is reflected in the head and foot boards and sets a modern theme of this classic design. This is a very easy project to complete and only requires a limited amount of lumber. The nightstand is included with this plan as an added bonus.
Nightstand size: 26" high by 27" wide and 18" deep
Head Board Size: 50" high Footboard 30" high

BOW ARM MORRIS CHAIR

This chair is a direct reflection of the work done by William Morris in England in the early 1900's. It is also influenced by the work of Gustav Stickley here in America. This chair features quadralinear leg post construction. These posts have four quarter sawn oak boards mitered and then glued. This construction technique best displays the oak's ray flake which seems to wrap around the leg. Our well detailed instructions explain three different methods of leg construction. Size: 40" high by 36" wide and 42" deep.

Adirondack Chair & Footstool

In the early 1900's in the upper New York State Adirondack Mountains this style of chair first appeared. The Chair has a low seat; wide arms, curved back and a very comfortable footstool. The back has a single 3 position adjustment that makes it very comfortable for all.

A Unique Experience and Opportunity at American Sycamore

Have you started a Project and not been able to finish it?  Perhaps you ran into a difficult or complex set up. Or you do not own or have access to the correct equipment?   American Sycamore can help.  Now you can schedule a private class with Mike.

Mike will guide you through your project.  Working one-on-one with Mike will allow you to concentrate on the skills and techniques that you want to learn or polish up on.  In most cases we can complete a project and even apply the finish.  Imagine building and completing a piece of furniture all ready to take home.

  1. American Sycamore is well equipped with Delta and Porter-Cable equipment.

  2. A one-on-one is a unique learning environment.

  3. You will be the center of attention.

  4. You will not have to wait in line to use a piece of equipment.

  5. The class will be directed to your needs and wants.  This allows for a lot of flexibility and allows us to work at your pace and gives us the needed time to pay particular attention to design and details.

You will need to supply two color photos of your piece, a front view and a side view along with a description of the materials that you used. Your photos will not be returned. We plan to have 3 finalists and from them we will award the Tablesaw on December 15, just in time for Christmas 2007.
